Meniere's Disease and Low Sodium Diet

In addition to nausea treatment and motion sickness medication, patients with Meniere’s disease should limit there sodium intake to 1500 – 2000 mg per day. Many prepackaged foods contain large amounts of salt or sodium chloride so your best option is to cook or prepare your own meals and try to season them with herbs, salt-substitute, or salt-free products like Doc’s Salt-Free Hot Sauce. While there is some evidence for diuretic use, if you are eating too much sodium they won’t work.
